In this series of 26 posts, we’re going to break down the terms and concepts that are at the heart of what we do and what we fight for.

B is for barrier, specifically radiant barrier.

Radiant barrier works its way into our A-Z for a number of reasons. Firstly, the Alliance offers radiant barrier for sale from our office located in the New Orleans Healing Center. The advantage of buying from us rather than whole sale is that you avoid paying for more material that you actually need and you avoid paying the cost of shipping.

Selling radiant barrier means backing up our conviction that it’s a great way to improve energy efficiency  in your home or office. Relatively easy to install, radiant barrier provides insulation by reflecting heat rather than trying to absorb it like other, more traditional insulation methods.

Often installed on the uppermost level of a building, like an attic, radiant barrier is especially effective during hot, summer months. By reflecting the heat, radiant barrier can help lower your cooling costs.
