We recognize the unique challenges faced by coastal Louisiana due to climate change, and we work to develop policy solutions that reduce global warming pollution and prevent its worst impacts.
Through collaborative efforts, The Alliance has successfully fought against environmentally harmful projects, such as a proposed dirty coal plant that would have cost ratepayers significantly and released millions of tons of pollution. Furthermore, The Alliance champions energy efficiency programs, providing a win-win situation by helping families and businesses lower their energy bills while reducing harmful pollution.
The Consumer Protection & Education Program is where policy meets people. The Alliance is the only group representing the public’s interest at the policy-making table. From providing the public with opportunities to get engaged in the democratic process to educating youth about the importance of energy resources, we give the people of Louisiana a voice on the issue.
