Michael Brown is an environmental lawyer in New Orleans at the law firm Waltzer, Wiygul & Garside LLC. He represents environmental non-profit groups and members of coastal communities, including Native American and Vietnamese-American fishers, throughout the Gulf South. Mike’s cases range from electrical utility regulation and advocating for clean energy, to litigation arising from the BP Oil Spill, to protecting coastal wetlands, and to citizen suits holding industry accountable for pollution under the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and state law.
Mike is a graduate of Princeton University and earned his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2011. He moved New Orleans after finishing up law school and completing a judicial clerkship. He loves the City and the unique culture and ecology of south Louisiana and is honored to be part of the Alliance’s work to secure a brighter future for Louisiana consumers.
