Jessica Hendricks | State Policy Director
Originally from Baltimore, Jessica moved to New Orleans in 2016 from Oakland, CA to more fully engage with communities on the frontlines of Climate Change. Her robust experience brings community organizing strategies to advance policy solutions in technical discussions, such as electric utility planning and regulation. She has worked alongside Environmental Justice leaders and elected officials to successfully campaign for energy efficiency, clean energy and more affordable utility bills for the most vulnerable Louisiana residents.
In her initial term at the Alliance, Jessica engaged with the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) on issues including Net Metering, Energy Efficiency and was successful in negotiating the lowest rates in the country for Entergy Louisiana customers. After a brief period in city government, Jessica realized her work could be more impactful back at the Alliance for Affordable Energy, and is looking forward to representing the organization at the LPSC once again.
Jessica has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, a passion for community empowerment, civic engagement and insatiable love for international travel. She is owned by her two rescue dogs, loves bicycling and a good chai latte while listening to the sounds of New Orleans.
