We are currently looking for an ambitious, creative, and engaging Organizer with a passion for environmental justice and community education. This person must reside in Louisiana and have the ability to travel throughout the state.

The Community Solutions Organizer will engage with communities throughout the state to ensure that people have access to reliable information about utility policy and environmental justice issues that impact them. This work will also make sure that AAE and its work remains informed by and grounded in the issues that are impacting people the most. You will represent AAE at community and allied-partner events, which will include public speaking, giving presentations, taking meeting notes, and supporting at AAE outreach events. You will work to empower and educate community members to become leaders who actively participate in decision-making processes in alignment with AAE’s mission. The work involves listening and building relationships within a community, identifying critical issues, and mobilizing people to take action.
This role reports to the Community Solutions Manager (CSM) and works closely with other organizers and policy experts. The ideal candidate will be deeply curious and passionate about the impacts of environmental and regulatory policy on the people of Louisiana. The Alliance will support this person in the development of subject matter expertise in the areas impacting communities, namely: data centers, carbon capture and storage (CCS), nuclear power, transmission, renewable energy, and pollution.
Due to the nature of this work, assignments outside of standard business hours will occur in this role, so flexibility is required. We also understand that intentional rest is necessary for success and allow for flex time to achieve our goals.
Must reside within Louisiana (outside of New Orleans preferred).
$55,000 – $70,000 (evaluated based upon relevant prior experience)
