Are you looking for a unique leadership opportunity? Do you have a passion for consumer protection, energy efficiency, clean energy, good governance, and social, racial, and environmental justice? Well, look no further!

The Alliance for Affordable Energy is looking to expand our board, in search of passionate and dedicated leaders to uphold our mission and values. If you or someone you know would succeed in this role, we are accepting nominations via email by November 30.

Mission: The Alliance for Affordable Energy safeguards Louisiana’s future by protecting consumers’ right to an affordable, equitable, and environmentally responsible energy system.

Vision: A future where energy works for everyone.

Requirements & Duties

Follow The Alliance’s by-laws and principles of governance as adopted by the Board.
Commit to 3 years of service.
Exercise fiduciary responsibility for this organization: actively participate in reviewing, understanding, and approving the budget, as well as monitoring the fundraising plans to meet it.
To give what is, for you, a substantial financial donation. You may give this as a one-time donation each year, or make a pledge to pay throughout the year.
To exercise due diligence as a Board member, to help ensure adequate resources for The Alliance to fulfill its mission, actively engage in fundraising for The Alliance.
Attend monthly in-person board meetings.
You will also have the potential to chair a committee or action team if necessary.

Desired Qualifications

Minimum of two years’ work experience in a related field.
Leadership experience and previous work with nonprofit organizations.
Experience with fundraising and budgets.
Forward thinking, positive attitude
Embrace change

We seek a mix of cultural, racial, gender, professional, and geographical diversity for the board. The Alliance is seeking board members with experience in development, accounting, and community or neighborhood engagement.
