“A judge ruled Wednesday that the proposed sale of Cleco Corp. is not in the public interest, a week before the Louisiana Public Service Commission will decide whether to approve the transaction,” reports Jeff Matthews.

“We’re thrilled the ALJ saw what we did about this deal,” said Casey DeMoss, CEO of the Alliance for Affordable Energy. “The intervenors and the (commission) staff all came to the same conclusion, that this is not in the public interest. The only ones that says it is is Macquarie, and that’s because they stand to make a whole lot of money.”
