An insider’s case for why you should invest in solar.

As an AmeriCorps/Vista volunteer who has always supported the move towards alternative energy solutions in the US and around the world, I’m looking forward to working with the Alliance For Affordable Energy as they continue to work towards fair, affordable, and environmentally responsible energy policies for the local and national community. Solar energy is one viable alternative energy solution that is used in a variety of interesting applications, and in more ways than I realized. Checkout Wikipedia’s Solar List. Even the wretched parking meter, which isn’t on this solar list, is now powered by solar energy in many cities across the country. In some areas of New Orleans’ French Quarter, solar parking meters have been in use since 2005, and every year it seems more homes and businesses in Louisiana are being equipped with solar energy products by certified solar energy companies, like South Coast Solar.

South Coast Solar LLC, is a Louisiana owned and operated solar energy company and has been installing solar energy products for years. They specialize in solar and energy saving products and offer professional advice with free site inspections. They also have an extensive selection of solar products to choose from including, Solar Power panels, Solar Hot Water, Solar Pool heating, Wind turbines and other energy saving products. They have installed energy efficient products to homes and businesses both locally and internationally.

Investing in solar energy starts at home, but needs complete support at the local, state and federal levels to grow.
