The Alliance has crunched the numbers and uncovered a shocking truth: Louisianans have lost a whopping $1.5 billion, over the past 5 years, as a result of slow walking energy efficiency programs.

The Louisiana Public Service Commission desperately needs to finalize the energy efficiency rules that have been in development since 2009 (docket R-31106). States around the country have implemented effective solutions to reduce energy waste and lower utility bills through energy efficiency programs, but Louisiana is lagging behind.

Louisiana cannot afford to keep wasting time, money, and energy.

The Commission has to act now to finalize long-term robust energy efficiency programs for all Louisianans. The Alliance is waiting patiently for the Commission to drop the latest version of the energy efficiency rule so that we can provide our insight and recommendations on how to finalize it and make these programs a reality for residents and businesses.

Write your Commissioner and let them know why energy efficiency is important to you! Not sure who your Commissioner is or where to start? Our write your regulator template can help.
