As the Gulf South rebuilds following Hurricane Ida, we know people across the region will need help, including funding for lodging, food, basic necessities, and even gas money.

There are incredible organizations working to move funds to the ground immediately. We trust the following folks.
Gulf South for a Green New Deal
Gulf South for a Green New Deal (#GulfSouth4GND) is a regional formation of more than 350 organizations advancing long-existing work towards climate, racial, and economic justice in five states and one colonial territory across the Gulf South: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Puerto Rico.
Rise St. James
Rise St. James is requesting support to tarp many community member's roofs. If you are near St. James Parish and are available to help, reach out on the RISE St. James Facebook page.

The United Houma Nation
The United Houma Nation is a state recognized tribe of approximately 17,000 tribal members residing within a six-parish (county) service area encompassing 4,570 square miles.
LA Environmental Action Network
The Louisiana Environmental Action Network (LEAN) is a community based not-for-profit organization that has been working since 1986 to resolve the unique environmental struggles present in Louisiana.

The Lowlander Center supports coastal and bayou lowlands – human and natural, by honoring residents – Indigenous and all diverse historied groups -- by helping them to achieve full engagement for a resilient future.

Southern Solidarity is a grassroots, community-based group of volunteers in solidarity with the unhoused in their quest toward liberation.
