False Solutions

For nearly 40 years, the Alliance for Affordable Energy has fought for an energy system that works for people, not just utilities.

Despite what we know has been a challenging year in which Louisianans felt the weight of their power bills more than ever, this year, alongside our allied organizations and supporters like you, we made meaningful progress. From regulatory victories to community organizing, here are some of the highlights from our year.

Fighting Against Costly and Risky Gas Expansion
Expanding Energy Efficiency
Building Community & Coalition Power
Advocating for Residents & Helping Keep the Lights On
Holding Utilities Accountable
Advancing Clean Energy & Smart Planning
Building Capacity for the Work Ahead

Looking Ahead

The challenges facing Louisiana—rising energy costs, extreme weather, demand from energy-hungry data centers—are only growing. But so is our movement. As we head into the new year, The Alliance will continue fighting for energy solutions that put people first.

None of this work happens alone. Thank you for standing with us, showing up, and helping power progress toward a more affordable and equitable, and environmentally responsible  energy future for all Louisianans.
