New Orleans’s journey towards energy storage and resilience: A timeline

For more than a decade, The Alliance has advocated for the City of New Orleans to invest in its future and its residents by expanding access to solar and battery storage (solar + storage).

Good policies take time, collaboration, and lots of voices pulling in the same direction. The Alliance is excited to see a vision shaped by community voices, improved by modern technologies, and funded by holding utilities accountable come to fruition.

As the New Orleans City Council (CNO) moves towards a vote to approve Entergy New Orleans’s (ENO) implementation plan for its $28 million battery incentive and virtual power plant (VPP) program, it’s worth looking back on how we got here.
