Mayor Landrieu urges state to act on climate change

On March 16 Mayor Landrieu urged the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) to address both the causes and the effects of climate change, which he described as an “existential threat” to the city.

Alliance for Affordable Energy’s Casey DeMoss reminded the CPRA & everyone in the audience to recognize the direct connection between carbon emissions from power plants and other industries in the state and the continuing rise in sea level along the coast that is a key cause of coastal land loss.
