The Commissioners will be electing a Commissioner to serve as Chair for 2022 as well as electing a Commissioner to represent the LPSC at MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operator) & SPP (Southwest Power Pool).
U-35927 on Electric Cooperatives Purchase Power Agreements: Possible vote on Final Recommendation of the ALJ and Draft Order. This will establish were LA’s cooperative utilities will get their power through a long-term contract. Business as usual with Cleco Cajun’s inefficient fossil fuel powered plants or from a new portfolio with Magnolia Power which includes a lot of solar but also a new gas plant.
R-36131 on Electric Vehicles (EV) & infrastructure: Possible Motion to rehear the hiring of the McQ Group. What’s really at stake here is how the LPSC hires consultants. Do consultants need to disclose personal business relationships and the potential for conflict of interest?
