The Alliance urges the Council to think expansively and to act boldly on behalf of struggling ratepayers.
In our preliminary comments AAE recommended the Council:
- Adopt a permanent prohibition on residential shutoffs for Entergy & SW&B ratepayers
- Create an arrearage management program that pairs debt forgiveness with energy efficiency improvements
- Streamline the bill dispute process
- Eliminate residential deposits and reconnection fees
- Classify refrigerators as medical equipment for the purpose of medical needs certification
- Ensure ratepayers are fully represented in regulatory proceedings
