Dear Aaron,
If Entergy New Orleans gets its way, New Orleans will remain totally reliant on dirty sources of energy like nuclear, coal and natural gas for decades into the future.1 The company just released a draft of its long term energy plan,2 and incredibly, it doesn’t include any investments in renewable energy projects in New Orleans for the next 20 years. Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised that the company that failed to keep the lights on during the Super Bowl would produce such a terrible plan. But with New Orleans squarely in the path of climate-change-fueled hurricanes and increasingly threatened by rising sea-levels, doubling down on dirty energy is a mistake the city can’t afford to make. Entergy has promised to publicly answer every question it receives about its energy plan — but it is only taking questions until Wednesday. Given the dangerous, dirty energy plan Entergy has proposed, we need to ask some tough questions to show our opposition. Take a look at our sample questions below, then click here to visit Entergy’s website and either paste in one of the questions below or submit your own.
