The Alliance for Affordable Energy works to promote the use of solar power and solar heating technologies, both large-scale commercial and residential.   The Alliance supports the expansion of Louisiana’s solar industry by advocating for policy changes that foster the market.  We successfully adovcated for net-metering rules that allow customers to sell the energy from their solar panels to the Utility at retail rate, up to net zero usage.  Louisiana has the best solar tax credits in the Nation; we enjoy an 80% credit (50% state, 30% federal).    

 

We help to educate the marketplace through the Solar American Cities program funded through the U.S. Department of Energy.  We now have a
