Phantom Draw

You are wasting energy even when you don't need it. Having gadgets, appliances, other electronic devices, and chargers plugged in all the time, even when it’s turned off or unattached to the device, uses a small amount of energy that can add up over time. Unplugging electronics after use or plugging devices to a power strip (making it more accessible to turn the power off), can cut down on wasted energy use. Even when a cell phone, camera, and power tool charger is not in use, it will draw extra energy. Bigger devices, like computers and TVs draw energy just from being plugged in to an outlet. This can save about 10% of an individual home's energy usage.
COST:
Free or very inexpensive to purchase a power strip. ($7+)
INSTALLATION:
DIY (Do it Yourself)
