Solar Roundtable Meeting June 29, 2011

Linda Baynham from Energy Smart gave an overview of the Solar Hot Water Pilot Program and showed attendees how to apply to be contractors. Tommy Milliner from the Alliance for Affordable Energy discussed changes to the state net metering rules. Woody Martin from the Sierra Club discussed what happened with HB 595 at the recent Louisiana legislative session. The Alliance for Affordable Energy, Global Green & GSREIA introduced the Department of Energy’s Rooftop Solar Challenge funding opportunity. The Alliance for Affordable Energy hosted a public event following the roundtable meeting for members of the public to talk to solar professionals.

Attendees discussed responsibilities for the Solar Day event, held on June 18th.

 

Solar Roundtable Meeting April 6, 2011

Agenda: 

• New Orleans Solar Map

• Studying the impact of PV installations


Attendees discussed how addresses should be collected for the New Orleans Solar Map. They also discussed how to be involved in the upcoming study of PV system production, as outlined in the plan for New Orleans’ Energy Smart Program.


Solar Roundtable Meeting February 17, 2011

Agenda:

• New Orleans Solar Map, Solar Marketing Materials

• Educating consumers on net metering and how to read their meters 

• Update on the Gulf States Renewable Energy Industries Association (GSREIA)

The Alliance introduced the mock-up of the New Orleans Solar Map, and the marketing materials created by Critigen. Attendees discussed the recent WWL report on confusion among net metering customers, and received an update on the progress of GSREIA.
