Bamboo Flooring

ISSUE:
Bamboo grows quickly and is a renewable resource compared to trees that take several decades to mature to a usable size. Its appeal is that it is harder than some oaks and equally as strong, but much lighter in weight. Look for a reputable company that sustainably harvests and sells at least 5 year old bamboo, because of it will be stronger and less likely to warp. Many cheaper brands contain young, soft bamboo that can off gas toxic fumes, like formaldehyde. Bamboo flooring planks comes in a variety of colorful tones and finishes, but darker tones tend to be softer. You can install by gluing or snap locking the boards together.
