Solar Day 2012

Solar Day 2012! First of all, this is NOT a pagan holiday.  The Alliance for Affordable Energy is joining the Gulf States Renewable Energy Industry Association, and Louisiana Green Corps to sponsor a day to chat about renewable energy, energy efficiency and the  incentives available to help you save money and care for the environment.

We have a lot to tell you about.  On energy efficiency, we will have information about the Energy Smart program and NOLA Wise, New Orleans' two energy efficiency programs.  Also, the state is still offering the HERO program.

On renewable energy, the state of Louisiana has made it easy for us.  Residential solar systems qualify for a 50% tax credit. Combine that with the 30% federal tax credit and a $25,000 solar system will only cost about $5000 out of pocket.  No kidding!!!  There will also be a self-guided solar home tour so you can check out what a real solar system looks and acts like.

Come on out to see us!  Arabella Station Whole Foods at 5600 Magazine St.
