NCCC team Blue 7 ends their service at the Alliance
July 14 – Six weeks of work came a close on Friday, July 10 as the young adults of the Alliance for Affordable Energy's NCCC team, Blue 7, finished their project with a bang. After their final day of work, the Alliance held an afternoon party to acknowledge NCCC members' accomplishments during the past six weeks.
During the party each staff supervisor stood up to provide a reflection on the accomplishments of their respected crew member. “I learned so much about what it takes to run an office,” proclaimed NCCC member, Brianna Spittle. “Your positive energy was so contagious and all of your hard work helped us out immensely!” was the immediate response of her supervisor, Lizzy Shepard.
Embedded throughout the organization, NCCC crew members assisted the Alliance by refinishing BuildSmart Learning Center floors, creating placards, renovating office areas, creating and a consolidating Fee-For-Service operations manual, organizing archives, leading summer camp activities, assisting workforce krewe leaders, building volunteer capacity and installing radiant barrier in 2 local homes. Everyone at the Alliance for Affordable Energy would like to extend an enormous 'thank you' to all the members of NCCC team Blue 7. We would also like to thank Gold 3 – the first NCCC team to participate with the Alliance in 2009. Both teams did incredible work and helped to lay the groundwork for years to come.
