Good Hands at Work in Holy Cross

News Type:
Sustainable Rebuild

August 11 – On the first turn of the calender, six volunteers found themselves crawling, hands and knees, inside a an attic installing radiant barrier at a home located in the Holy Cross neighborhood.

Beginning the weekend of August 1st, the project took 2 days or 14 hours to complete. Despite the Louisiana summer heat, a 38” apex, and myriad attic obstacles, a radiant barrier was installed in the 960 ft2 home. The home owner, Paula Sino, demonstrated her gratitude with praise and some delicious home cooking.

The project was donated by the Alliance as a means to help the homeowner combat the cost of a high-cost energy bill.

Thank you to all who volunteered their time and efforts: Gwyn Garrison, Tony Hardin, Kate Harding, Lindsay Finlayson, Victoria Wilson and Matthew Sweeney.
