Alliance/Americorps staff member, NCCC team leader featured on serve.gov
October 14 - On October 13, the Corporation for National Community Service presented a new video on their web site, serve.gov, featuring Alliance Volunteer Coordinator and Americorps VISTA volunteer Matt Sweeney and Americorps NCCC Team Leader Tony Smith, who leads team Badger 4 at the Alliance. Congratulations Matt and Tony!
The Corporation for National Community Service oversees the Americorps program and also the Learn and Serve and Senior Corps programs. It is a high honor for Americorps volunteers to be featured on the front page of the site.
Americorps continues to provide valuable assistance to the Alliance in our work, providing our organization with key staff through the VISTA program and a steady stream of volunteers through the NCCC program. NCCC volunteers have installed radiant barrier in seven New Orleans homes, and in the last few weeks Americorps NCCC team Badger 4 also weatherized the home of a Xavier triangle resident. We at the Alliance are grateful for the ongoing support of Americorps and look forward to a long relationship.
