February 4 - Research by the Alliance for Affordable Energy has uncovered campaign donations by consultants of Entergy New Orleans or Entergy Louisiana to candidates in every New Orleans City Council race.

After examining the campaign disclosure reports of 21 candidates for the five council districts and two at-large seats, the Alliance found 10 candidates who had received donations from one or more consultants to Entergy New Orleans (ENO) or Entergy Louisiana (ELL) in 2009, and 11 candidates who had not recorded contributions from these consultants as of the most recent filing on February 2, 2010.

The largest recipient is current City Council President Arnie Fielkow. Consultants to ENO and ELL donated a total of $6,000 to Mr. Fielkow's campaign. ENO and ELL consultants donated $5,000 to District A candidate and former Council Member Jay Batt, the second largest recipient.
