2009 legislative endorsements - Louisiana
note: The 1st 2009 regular session of the Louisiana Legislature adjourned on June 25, which was followed by a period where Governor Jindal had the opportunity to sign legislation. The Alliance for Affordable Energy endorsed the following bills in the 1st regular session:
SB92 (Gautreaux) - Expands who is eligible for the existing state solar tax credit, allows for 3rd party owners of solar systems to claim the credit. DID NOT PASS
SB224 (Gautreaux) - Allows municipalities to issue bonds to support energy efficiency programs and renewable energy production. PASSED, SIGNED BY GOVERNOR TO BECOME ACT 348
HB733 (Leger) - Creates a tax credit for employers who create "green" jobs. PASSED, SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR TO BECOME ACT 520
HB850 (Richmond) - Creates a new renewable energy production tax credit at $.01/KWH. DID NOT PASS
HB858 (Ponti) - Expands who is eligible for the existing solar tax credit, allows for 3rd party owners of solar systems to claim the credit. PASSED, SIGNED BY GOVERNOR TO BECOME ACT 467
HCR93 (Peterson) - Creates a climate change policy commission. PASSED
